Too bad... I was hoping you guys would get it done in time for Origins. Especially with a new Trek movie out! The sales potential would have been awesome*.

Yeah, me too. But the good news is that it gets an extra month of playtesting too, which is never a bad thing.

As we know more of the overall status and progress of the project, we'll be sure to share. We're just as excited!

They're both pretty cool but I'm leaning towards the second (current) one for now.

And those ships in particular are very valuable in a campaign setting, if I do say so myself :) .

They sure are, but actually I've been thinking more about repair tugs and, to a lesser extent, hospital ships.

I'm stoked about FA!

Oh, for sure. I have been going over which ships would be required for a campaign, and which will be nice to have, just to fill out that campaign ship book SVC talked about. I think the first priority will go to repair vessels, shipyards, and FRDs.

Thank you, as are we. It has been a monumental amount of work to get it to play right, founded in VBAM mechanics, but one which adheres to all the nuances of the SFU. We kept the modular design so it could be made more simple or complicated as needed. I have a number of plans for expansions if given the chance.

As playtesting is going on I am mulling the idea of a "First Campaigns" PDF to go along with the "First Missions" that seems to work so well for FC.

All the best,

Great! I wasn't sure what would be coming out, as far as campaign support ships go. Tugs are coming into FC, but SVC said they'd just have cargo pods. A repair pod would be good for a campaign, plus I saw a 'warp engine repair pod' in a book awhile back, so between the two I've been toying with the idea of trying to convert a pod mini into something like that.

I know you'd mentioned doing some type of preview or example PDF before. I hope you do. I'm so curious and excited about FA, I can hardly wait for more info!

The Federation hospital ship is in Briefing #2. Other empires' hospital ships are probably based on civilian hulls, i.e. modified freighters, possibly with upgraded engines for speed. There's also armed freighters in Briefing #2.

Repair tugs would just be a tug or light tactical transport with a repair pod. LTTs for FC have been published in Captain's Log.
