Extermination Clarification

From CC 6.4.3 Extermination: "Each Census point exterminated in this manner reduced the system’s Census by 1 and generates a number of economic points equal to the original Census value times 10."
Let's say that the population of the system is 6. On turn 1, 1 Population is exterminated bringing the population down to 5. On turn 2, the exterminators get 60 EP, and exterminate 1 more point of population.
How many EP does the exterminator receive on turn 3: 60 or 50? In other words, is it the Original Census Value from when extermination started, or is it the Original Census Value from before that round of extermination (i.e. from the beginning of the last turn)?
My take would be that they get 50 EP on turn 3.
