Just thought this was cool.

Looking for more ways to visually communicate star system attributes and stumbled onto it.

I imagine hot and large planets are somewhat overrepresented due to the most commonly used detection methods:
  • occlusion (planet passes in front of star) which favors closer in planets with shorter periods of rotation
  • "wobble" in the star's distance from earth due to the slight pull from planets which favors large planets
  • brightness distortions (planet reflecting light from the star/being hidden and slight tidal distortions on stars) which again favors large planets

All of these favor large stars as well as they are most detectable, generally brighter, and thus most of the above methods are more noticeable.

That said, the classification system and the way it's charted is pretty cool. Good find!
