As I noted in this thread: http://www.forums.vbamgames.com/viewtopic.php?t=369 , Federation Admiral has been slated for an October 19 release. Yeah, I should have posted it here, instead, but I got excited in the heat of the moment and forgot.
The good news is that Fed Admiral is in the chute and will be here before we know it!

Excellent news- my last few demos in the local area have been hits, and running some sort of long standing campaign would be a good way to get regular games going.

Yeah, it is nice to see it on the schedule. I have been working on some launch material too, which is mostly scenarios and some expanded rules. Charlie and I are also planning to support a "living" ship list on their website to add their new FC ships as they are released.wminsing wrote:Excellent news- my last few demos in the local area have been hits, and running some sort of long standing campaign would be a good way to get regular games going.

Cool! Can't wait to see it all! I even put a countdown clock for in on my Myspace page.mwaschak wrote:We are getting there! I am starting to go over some material I am putting together for the launch event, like an online campaign and some new scenarios (The Expedition, The Dissenter).
Thank you,

Major Downer
I see from the latest ADB newsletter that Fed Admiral has gone back into development and might be added to the November or December schedule if it's ready.
I guess the realistic view now is that it will be next year.

I haven't heard anything either unfortunately. As far as I knew all existing issues were resolved and we were good to go.Shadow Warrior wrote:No, it doesn't say why. I haven't followed it closely at the ADB boards but the odd comment or two leads me to believe the playtesters thought it was hard to get into if you'd not played VBAM before.

Double bummer. Kind of makes it hard to fix the problem if you don't even know what the problem is. Of course, it could be that there's nothing wrong with FA itself but their capacity to print/distribute product is maxed out until year end and their own stuff understandably takes precedence in the queue.mwaschak wrote:I haven't heard anything either unfortunately. It looks like Hydran Attack got bumped back from September (if I'm remembering the earlier release schedule correctly), which would mean some issue with Hydran Attack is bumping everything else back. Again, that's pure speculation, but not too unusual in the grand scheme of things.

From the Federation Commander forum:
FEDERATION ADMIRAL: This is mostly a matter for formatting. When all of the above is done, and if F&E-2010 is on schedule (it has higher priority), I will get the final file from Jay and spend a few days bashing on the formatting. The problem here is the sheer volume of work to do, most of which would take more time to tell Jay "do this, then this" than to actually do, but it's still a huge project. The last time I did this (on one of the drafts, so we could pass it around the office) it took three entire days for a quick and dirty version. It's just a huge freaking book. I haven't given the latest draft enough of a look to tell if it's going to be hard or easy.
