Watch Space:1999 it make you happy, totally off its box.
I was brought up on it, which explains a few things.
Very hard for me to watch it now, but I still like it..

For an extra point what links Space:1999 and The Buffy series?

Like UFO Gerry Anderson made it partly for the Amercan market (IIRC)
UFO was a great concept, I though why not someone make a game of it..
Well I guess Xcom did.

I know its cheesey, unplausible and bonkers but I love them!

Is Space: 1999 the one where the moon gets blasted away from earth orbit by a vast nuclear explosion?
Not every laser dot has a loaded gun at the end of it

Bingo thats the one: One of Gerry Anderson's. One of our home grown, completely implausible classics.

Brian Blessed guest appeared twice!
"Space is BIG, really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."
