Unfortunately, the developer that they handed the MOO license over to is evidently known for producing cheap shovelware, so this is almost definitely not going to end well.
The only thing that makes me cautiously optimistic is that they chose to go back to the first game for visual cues to tie into, with a few nods to MOO2 combat. I'm one of the few people that really liked MOO1 but is fairly ambivalent to MOO2. I really didn't like MOO2 on launch, as I was looking forward to a sequel to MOO1 and not Master of Magic in Space. I loved MOM, but what I liked about it is different from what I enjoyed about MOO.
