How do flights with the Missile trait end up working? This missile trait normally means you can use your full AS even when in defensive formation, but fighters not assigned to enemy squadrons don't get to use their AS values (right?).
Do they just not halve their AF value when redeploying at the end of the assignments phase?
Can they do their AS damage even if they aren't assigned to an enemy squadron during their assignments phase?
Is there some other model for this?

Re: Flights with the Missile trait?
This is a case where the CG 4.20 Ordnance Packages should probably have been made into a standard rule rather than an optional rule. That is the intended use of Missile flights.
In the absence of that rule, the best way to handle this is going to be to allow the player to choose a +1 bonus to a stat at the start of the battle and have that be the reflection of the special missiles that the flight is outfitted with. If you want to swap to a different stat during the battle, you'll need to land your flights and have them do nothing for a full combat round while they swap out their missiles, then they can participate in combat on the following round.
Does that sound reasonable?

I like that idea. Alternatively, missile fighters can be equipped with the ordnance packages your empire has available, just like ships.

Re: Flights with the Missile trait?
So, to recap:
Does that sound about right?--if Ordnance Packages are not available, a flight with the Missile trait may boost any ONE of its combat value at the start of the battle by +1--this can reflect countermeasures (DV), heavy torpedoes (AS) or flechette missiles (AF) (to give an example of what they would carry)
--if Ordnance Packages are available, flights may employ any package the empire has.

Murtalian's rules roll up sounds about right there!
Like I said, I should probably have just forced the issue and made ordnance packages a standard rule just because of this, but this covers the bases.
I'll add the note to the errata.
