Can't seem to get my friends interested!

I just can't seem to get my friends interested in trying out a game.
I shake my fist at them often, but I suppose its hard to see over the internet.

Not actually managed to play a game yet, which is why i've finally come to the forum in order to see if anyone is looking for players for a game and doesnt mind a complete newbie.

I have read the rules, but there are a lot of them and I imagine that playing is going to be a faster learning method than repeatedly reading the book until i'm physically ill.

Online gaming is a good way to try out the game and learn the rules. The list is good, like Paul mentioned, or you can try a thread here and drum up interest.
