Re: What's next?
For the first, I'm kinda erring on the "have to explore them yourself", despite my personal preference being the former option (yeah, I'm being a contrarian for the sake of it--I haven't had my morning cup of coffee yet...:D). But, in all seriousness, I think it makes more sense to have to...

Re: Federation Admiral Public Update
Seeing as I really don't know much about the company in question (never been that big a fan of gaming in ST, especially ST:OS (which I've had little opportunity to watch)--I've been more interested in B5-thank/blame the HV guys for reviving my interest in B5), was there a change in captaincy between...

Re: Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
One thing I'd like to see is the coast-defence battleships of the Norwegian, Swedish and Greek navies, but then that's just me...

Re: Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
Although, to be fair, I'm pretty sure armoured cruisers of that era always massed around the same as battleships and often required as many, if not more, crew than said battleship... But one thing that I'm not sure on--do you mean the Courageous battlecruiser class? That's the only class of ships I ...

Re: Your Wishlist for Companion and First Contact?
I'd roll them all together. I've always tended to the thought that all rules were modular--so you can tailor a campaign to what you want/what the source material feels like. State at the start of the chapter that, as with all rules, you can take all, none or some of the 'following' rules for your ca...

VBAM:SX Expanded SU, Engine/Shield Factor and CR/CC Table
...phew...:) Anyway, as a result of the earlier thread, I've worked out the SU, E/S Factor and CR/CC values for SX vessels up to hull 60, which in the inferred relationship as laid out in the SX-to-SAE and SAE-to-SNE conversion notes works out to SNE hull 90. Two versions are provided--one for A4, o...

VBAM:SX CR/CC discussion
Okay, so this is a bit unusual... For most of the time I was playing VBAM:SX I used a couple of formulae that gave higher CR and CC values. For example, under the original system, a Hull 20 vessel had a CR of 9 and a CC of 3, whereas with the new formula it has a CR of 14 and a CC of 5. The formulae...

Re: Flights with the Missile trait?
So, to recap: --if Ordnance Packages are not available, a flight with the Missile trait may boost any ONE of its combat value at the start of the battle by +1--this can reflect countermeasures (DV), heavy torpedoes (AS) or flechette missiles (AF) (to give an example of what they would carry) --if Or...

Re: Your Wishlist for Companion and First Contact?
So it's still looking like Companion is a must as well as Engineering Manual, with Those Who Serve and the UE book being e-book only (as those are 'would be nice' not 'absolutely essential' for me)

Re: VBAM Second Edition to Starmada Nova
@mwaschak: it is quite a change--and requiring a fair bit of maths for the design process (had to buy a calculator that enabled me to do variable logs for armour points). I've actually backslid to AE which I can do designs for fairly quickly. I have managed to do a couple of things in NE, however......

Re: Scifi space battle novels whats your favorites?
After looking at my previous reply a few years ago, I must admit that I've enjoyed both the Lost Fleet and the Starfire books mentioned previously--although the last two books of the Starfire universe (Exodus and Extremis) weren't particularly up to the standard of the earlier books.

Re: VBAM's December 2015 Update
Damn, it looks interesting, but for the wargamer who's already a bit low on space, those blocks look altogether too big. Most of the reason I gave up on Iron Stars was the space requirements for the tent-ships. Can those blocks be 2-D, or do they need to be 3-D?

Might I suggest cropping the images so we don't see the tabs bar of your browser?
