thought I'd comment some just to get my post count up read a bit about SM-3 missiles and global security says it needs a second ship with some spiffy radar to help with target tracking. 15 DDG and 2 CG with the capability is pretty impressive http://www.globalsecurity.org/space/systems/sm3-deploy.htm

The U.S. Department of Defense has decided to make the next generation heavy bomber an unmanned aircraft. The Department of Defense also wants the new aircraft in service by the end of the next decade, some twenty years ahead of schedule.
I hope they call the data link Skynet?

UAV-UAV air refueling, i wonder if anyone thought of the option of making UAV tankers. in my armchair general mode i'd think its the perfect application of UAV technology, an aircraft that have long endurance flying a preplanned pattern. ...

down sizing only go so far, I'm getting the feeling that Washington is going to over do it if not already.
