"If the emissary from House Raptor wishes to impugn the honor of House Echelon further, we can continue it in the Echelon Ambassadorial shuttle at the spaceport. It is sovereign House Echelon ground and while we did not have enough room for a full-sized dueling circle, there is one big enough f...

Re: Glorious Stars Intro (feel free to jump in)
Just noticed you have my e-mail address (malexanderaustin@gmail.com) for House Far Stars instead of House Echelon and don't have mine listed. Could be a useful change as I just got some Far Stars email...

House Echelon Communique First Tier Elect Citizen Emrella Duedine House Echelon wholeheartedly agrees with the the eloquent En'Scootra Tro-losh. With the dissolution of the Hegemony, we predict a massive surge of piracy as they move in to exploit the lack of centralized military authority. Why shou...

Home system of House Echelon: Echelon "North" system: Sword "South" system: Blade House Echelon is slightly obsessed and not especially imaginative. Breaking the social norms might offend someone and get you a new scar or one less ear, so better to go with something that no one h...

To first blood unless both parties agree otherwise, but there are often "accidents".virtutis.umbra wrote:House Echelon sounds pretty rad.
Are most duels to the death, then? To first blood?

Where Did 2E Go?
I'm just curious where everything went. It seemed the playtest was off to a good start, then a few issues with the system that had cropped up caused a re-write/re-draft that what seemed to be an 80% complete rule set and put it back to 50%. Personally, I thought the system that we started to playtes...

Re: Test Combats
Jimmy was right, I had the 1/5/13, not the 1/6/13 draft. I'll try to proceed with the combat now: Recovery Phase at the end of round 1: Tirelons roll 1d6-2 to see if their Readiness normalizes *rummages around for some d6s* : 6-2 = 4, no change. Brindaki roll 1d6-1: 6-1 = 5, no change. It's now time...

Re: Test Combats
The test rules say this for the Recovery Phase: "At the end of the combat round players reset formation levels to 1, remove destroyed units, and check unit basing for units that were crippled that round and may not have enough Basing value to continue transporting all of the flights, ground for...

Re: Test Combats
So, with current rules my understanding is: 1) Re-roll Readiness each round. Are there any modifiers (initial modifiers, last round's modifiers)? I like the rolling of Readiness each round as it adds a sense of "the odds changing" to things, which also makes my predilection using last roun...

Re: Web play aids
Well, we'll see how it goes in action. I'm still almost completely unclear on how encounter generation works. If it works differently than I'm believing it does, my designs might be far less effective than I believe. From my analysis and test combats, Stealth and Interception are the most powerful a...
