Re: Glorious Stars Play Aid Website - Alpha
Huh. You should be able to move it left, right, up and down by grabbing with the left mouse button and dragging the map. Mouse wheel should zoom. All bets are off with a Mac, I don't have one to test with. I've also noticed on my iPads that it's very difficult to click on a system name, as the pinch...

How's this for a starting point?

Also, logins should now let you use a Google ID to login. Doesn't let you do anything else in terms of edits, but I did fix my typo in the database connection string from last night.

Re: Glorious Stars Play Aid Website - Alpha
Next up this evening is to finish off the integration with Google for authentication. I'm going to use the gmail accounts I see to connect you to your houses and set you up so you can edit the names of your stars and settlements.

Glorious Stars Play Aid Website - Alpha
I've added enough security that if you try to edit something the website will blow up on you. http://vbam2.azurewebsites.net/ It's uptime is going to be highly variable for two reasons. 1. It's a free 90 day trial from MS Azure and I'm not really paying for anything yet. So we we exceed the "la...

Re: The Glorious Stars Playtest
Sorry, I had missed it. I have a facility for renaming them right on the website that I haven't shown Jay how to get to yet, so hopefully he picked the same ones to rename that I did. If he didn't it's trivial for me to rename them again.

Re: May 2013 Development Update
Awesome. Writing that piece of code to fan out supply for an empire three jump lanes where the jump lane cost is less than "restricted" is a piece of SQL or Linq that is much, much easier to write. Not that I want that to at all influence how you design, but it is a lot less work for me.

Re: May 2013 Development Update
The supply question is one that is near and dear to my heart at the moment. I've been trying to figure out how to write the data call that understands into which systems a player might be able to trace supply. It's a piece of logic that is going to try my mental facilities. Does this mean that I can...

Re: The Glorious Stars Playtest
Awesome. No worries there. Figure an evening for me to update my database with your data when you guys are ready. I set up basically a solo Purple planet for any system that didn't randomly generate them so that I could put settlements there. If you guys want the planets in there, I can do that, oth...

Re: The Glorious Stars Playtest
Of course I can. I probably should have thought of that. :) Since it's still raining and my next committment isn't for until early afternoon, I normalized all of the control circles for now. The design intent is that the circle reflects the value of the system, but right now I don't know what those ...

Re: The Glorious Stars Playtest
Having said that, if there is a table (excel or Google) that detailed the stellar type (single, binary, cluster, blackhole), carry, raw, and bio; I could edit out the systems so that the control circles would correctly size. Also, I didn't do all of the jump lanes, just started them in the upper le...

Re: The Glorious Stars Playtest
okay first cut. Sadly, this is a very busy weekend for me, so I might not be back in the code until late Sunday evening again. Which is a shame, because I'm eager to try out the website as a play aid. Here's a screen shot. It does require a browser that is either IE9+, Firefox, Safari, or Chrome to ...
