Re: L5R meets VBAM?
It has been on my to-do list to work out a system to link the two for so long....... I am running into a bit of a snag at the moment. I want to differentiate the units a bit more then what the system typically allows. For instance, Crab Clan samurai tend to wear heavy armor. I'd like a way to add t...

I haven't gotten to sit down and read much of it yet (12 hour work shifts right now) but I skimmed it. I'll be able to read it tonite and know for sure then.

Re: Thought Experiments: Playing with the Rules
Chyll, I think some of the implications of this are getting lost in the shuffle: the reason it's calculated as Census x (BIO -2) is that the proposed Agricultural statistic represents food surplus , after feeding the colony population - feeding the locals is what the first 2 points of BIO do, and t...

Re: Thought Experiments: Playing with the Rules
This is an interesting thought experiment... The breakdown of System and Colony Attributes/Stats makes sense. I had to read it through twice, but I think because the use of the word capacity was throwing me off after that. At work (manufacturing environment) I am used to capacity meaning the potenti...

Re: Jump Lane Classes in the 2E CG
My gut says that jump lane classes probably are not a good fit in standard rules.
(for the record: I much prefer the lane classifications for my play.)

Now this I like.virtutis.umbra wrote: Say the raiders have already destroyed their target and all its escorts before the reinforcements arrive. Re: Future Developments
Elite Officers : Those Who Serve will have the elite officer and crew rules, plus will probably be where an updated version of Noel Weer's political control rules will end up, if they don't get updated and put into the Companion. I tend to agree with BL, that it sounds like the Companion could star...

Re: 2E System Generator
Ahh now its good that you have an Android device. I have an iPad and iPhone, but not any android devices to test with. I almost removed the tabular output for mobile devices, but left it in case someone might need it. Its ugly when used, but serves a purpose in delivering spreadsheet compatible out...

Re: 2E System Generator
That is looking excellent. Tested it both in PC IE and on my Android (fit nicely on the screen). The +/- mechanism was not immediately intuitive, but I worked out it. The table feature wasn't very useful on the Android, but will be very handy on the desktop. (wish I'd saved the capacity 12 system th...

I enjoyed reading your preparation to ramp up to your campaign. I will watch to see how things progress - it looks promising. Last night I took a glance at Stars Divided : Terran Civil War ... it helps a lot trying to understand the VBAM-Starmada connection, I would recommend it to anyone going this...

Re: 2E Feedback
I think one good example of what I'm talking about would be the replacement of the 1E system of trade fleets with abstract Trade Links, and the replacement of the system for Raiders in 1E with abstract Piracy values. Reducing the whole exercise down to a calculation to subtract the global total for...

Re: Open Playtest
As Noel "Puppet Master" Weer I can profess a certain biased enthusiastic interest in an SD game. However, my gut reaction is in line with a couple of the other posts that a basic-virgin explore game may be the best venue for this effort. Now, this isn't a disadvantage vis-a-vis SD as a pla...
