Re: Crossover Works
And now, for the 2nd part of my conversion test, featuring: Dilgar Volons Shadows Ancients Now, at this point the Vorlons, Shadows, and Ancients are meant to be NPCs/Special Encounters. SERIOUSLY, these things are really overpowered - they're designed to direct damage anything they can shoot at. The...

Re: Crossover Works
BTW, regarding the B5 Ancients Oh, I did them to as more of a side project, taking a break from the force lists. Gave the 5 First Ones a 3090 tech level, and the Shadows and Vorlons a 3060 tech level. Note, they're designed to be played as NPCs (I had envisioned a sort of Masters of Orion 2 type of...

Re: Crossover Works
Actually I was referring the order in which I placed the units on the list; the values I approximated based on the B5 Wars SCSs.
And with that, I complete the Big 4 (Earth, Narn, Minbari, Centauri) ready for testing.

Re: Crossover Works
Yeah, it was either put the Neshatan in there at Y0, or put a Tinashi variant in there to fill out the slot; really a coin flip moment, could have gone either way. As for the Dargan, I missed the Stealth completely; it's part of the reason I wasn't very happy with the list, thought I could do with m...

Re: Crossover Works
Continuing with the conversion, I present the Minbari and Centauri. I'm not terribly happy with the way the Centauri turned out, but I'd like to know what others think. The Minbari got Jammers over Stealth (see a previous post here for that suggestion). The Centauri I tried for more smaller ships to...

Re: Crossover Works
Okay, my new, 30 year EA force list. Basically I took the most common classes and plugged them in, tossed in either upgrades or variants. [Yes, I realize there's no ground forces.] For the EA I decided that the Hyperion, with the most variants, was likely the workhorse of the EA and got the most uni...

Re: Crossover Works
Okay, so I lost all my B5 work and am going to have to start over. So I thought I'd figure out what folks would prefer: 1) A standard, 24 year fleet list for each race (34 units)? Standard VBAM 2) A 24 year fleet list with 2 units per year (58 units)? Allows for more variants, bit more of a B5W feel...

Re: 2nd Edition Unit Creation Spreadsheets
Anything that seems to be out of place or certain breakpoints that people should be aware of? Yes. Ungodly amounts of fighters are an unholy pain to manage. Ran two engagements with a Colonial vs Cylon fleet, Year 5. 3 SD, 4 BB, and 4 CA squadrons (and 149 fighter flights) vs 5 SD, 4 CA, 2 CL (165 ...

Re: 2nd Edition Unit Creation Spreadsheets
I should point out that this is my first time creating fleet lists, and I was going for a few core unit types that receive upgrades. That and the uber-carriers. :) They were designed to be tough and the centre pieces of fleets; look at the beatings Galactica took and what it finally took to put her ...

Re: 2nd Edition Unit Creation Spreadsheets
Okay, here it is, the one I've been using for creating a fun little set of lists I'm tentatively calling "Carrier Wars". It's really, really basic. And you need the rulebook for the special abilities, but it does help calculate how many points you have to spend on building, and will auto-c...

2nd Edition Unit Creation Spreadsheets
Looking forward to the community putting up excel workbooks to design starships, bases, fighters and ground units. I actually have a couple of these built for my own use right now. I'm loathe to post them however because of all the rulebook data they contain (data, tables, etc). Maybe an official w...

Re: Crossover Works
Well, been looking at the fleet list some more. Think I'm going to pare it down to base hulls and look at what specific variants there are (assault, minesweeper, scout, etc). Probably going to do a base list of 10 to 15 ships, and have the 2 tech advancements per year rule as a standard. Also droppi...

Re: Crossover Works
Wow. Stick my head in spreadsheets for a few days and all this conversation happens. Here's my thoughts on variants an such, and how I plan on handling things as of right now. There's too many ships over too large of a time frame to make using historical ISDs practical. Then there's the amount of sh...

Re: Crossover Works
I used the Ramming Factor (and to a lesser extent Class) as the basis for my initial class designations. To summarize: LCV (RF 20-40) = GB MCV (40-60) = CT MCV (70-110) = FF HCV (120-180) = DD HCV (190-200) = CL CAP (190-250) = CL CAP (260-320) = CA CAP (330-390) = BC CAP (400-450) = BB CAP (460+) =...

B5 Conversion
Okay, here's my basic list. All ships are from the B5Wars Ships of the Fleet source materials. I've listed Name, ISD, what I chose as a Class/Designation (based largely on the Ramming Factor stat), CV, and Jump and Atmos capabilities. Where I'm stuck right now is what I'd call a simplified ISD (In S...
