All the other entrances to the webway involve physical structures, so I'd say the ship sized ones should too. I don't know that non eldar ships would be able to use them though. The 40k warp travel mechanic, if you want to make it accurate, means that the ships that travel through the warp (Imperial / Chaos / Orks) can travel pretty much were they want.
