Just take a look at the bottom of the promo sheets, and you will see.

MiG-27
$25
Act: $1

A-7
$40
Act: $2

How is the game going so far?

 *smacks self* That's what I get for looking at those things right before bedtime........*sighs* I knew they had to be on there somewhere. I did NOT scroll down when I opened the pdfs and didn't see that info at all lol.

Thanks Jay! Campaign is going well. Jack and I both made 2 man MASs and flew them in the intro campaign separately. Then we joined forces for Jungle Dancing which we just finished. Overall I think Jack likes it as much as I do. He was mulling over plane and ordinance purchases for next Campaign when we called it a night and I went home lol.

You're welcome. That sounds like a nice evening of gaming.

So you got through the Intro and Jungle Dancing campaign pretty quickly. Are you guys going to move on to the next one?

Yep we did mission one of "War in the Dark" last night......... our awful to hit ratio with Sparrows continues *sighs*. I had 8 out 10 chance of getting hit on Mig-23.......and missed somehow *snickers at self*. We're big fans of twin cannon pods consequently (usually need them to finish off wounded foes). 12 Sparrows and 5-6 cannon bursts later we brought down 4 Mig-23s though so we're doing ok lol.

Ironically we've rolled great on contracts, only missing out on one in Jungle Dancing and we used "blackmail" attribute to "win" that one anyways. We've only lost one F-4 so far (pilot was safe) although our A-10 has been riddled 4 or so times (big fan of that damage modifier hehe).

What is it with you and those Sparrows? I remember with CSP that you had the same problem. Maybe you should look at the Alamo or Adder instead :) . I also try to do the same and keep cannons ready to finish a wounded target (hey, that is just good fiscal responsibility). That backfired on me once when I didn't take the easy shot with the AtA missile (Magic IIRC), and lost a HAL Tejas to an angry, wounded Mirage.

That is nice that you are winning your contacts. How is your prestige comparing to the competition? It always stinks if you miss the first few "easy" missions in a campaign and have to play catch up on the hard missions.

In a recent game with a test squadron, the Ice Drakes, I lost Surfs Up to the Mercentile, Port Strike AND Pirates of the Sky to Jager. I should have sat on my hands and waited. I got Back to Port from AoP. I spent most of my cash outfitting an A-6 with some nice shipkillers. I only had enough to bring two escorts.

That was all the planes I had. At the first encounter we got surprised by a ship-launched missile, and a pair of bandits. The A-6 was gone before we could even react, including a good pilot. Ice Drakes had to seriously consider bankruptcy after that.

Jay,

Yes the Sparrow curse is a long one and apparently it doesn't matter who is rolling the dice lol. Our prestige is great, we've completed every mission and lost no pilots so we have 4 elite pilots with a nice assortment of attributes (mostly defensive in nature which explains our lack of losses to date).

We're almost deciding against bidding on mission two for War in the Dark (taking out 3 F-15s) because we'll only have enough funds for 11 Sparrows and 4 A-Darters for our two F-4s, A-10, and F-15.......decisions, decisions. We do have twin cannon pods for all three fighters, modern chaff and flares, and ECM pods for A-10 and F-15 so defensively we're good to go, offensively it's a thin margin. That is part of the challenge with MAS though, getting by with the minimal outlay to maximize profit hehe.
