Mini Pics & Fanart

Post by PaulB »

As the forum doesn't have a miniature gallery forum, I thought I'd throw some pics of painted fleets here. I posted these very same pics to Star Ranger ages ago but thought they were worth repeating here. I've never gotten around to finishing any more ships though, or any of hte other hundreds of miniatures I have :P

Nicely done! I was very pleased with how Tyrel did these miniatures.

Thanks. I hope I can paint up some more miniatures in the not too distant futures. Seems I'm good at collecting, not so good at painting.

Hope we see an expansion to the Boltian / Kussian fleets in future as well

Did a pen and marker sketch tonight, based roughly on the Chouka Bishop Warship. The perspective isn't too tight and the details are very different, being more squarish than round. But thought it turned out pretty decent.

Always favoured this ship for whatever reason. Should try to paint some of the other miniatures or draw some of the other artwork. I've tried drawing one of my other favourites, the Xandar Lancer Frigate, but the wings are a bit of a pain.

Here's a depiction of the Circasian Xandar Lancer Frigate:

That is nice work Paul.

Escalation Wars, in its many forms, was always a favorite to play around here from the Planetside days.

Love the artwork, Paul!

The chunkier Bishop does look more visually interesting, I think. Whenever I go back in and do some more 3D modeling I may refer back to your design. At some point I think I would like to revisit the old Empire Rising ships, as the old designs were a bit too loyal to my original Bryce renders. And Bryce was very limited in what I could actually do compared to newer 3D packages.

To be fair I probably made Bishop chunkier because I had problems drawing the curvy one. Straight lines are generally easier to do than curves. :D The Xandar is a bit closer to the original but even then I took some liberties.
