random new institute idea

so, sitting at work eating lunch and a stray thought cross the tundra that passes for my brain. I thought I'd spit it out unformed before it died unshared.

Has anyone played with an idea for a diplomatic institute? A structure that allows inter-empire dialogue and commerce? In a player game, probably mostly a fluff fulcrum but in a solo game could allow minor modifiers to NPE diplomatic rolls.

hhmm, could also allow a modifier to some of the recent new intel mission to find out about economy size, system map, etc.

A 'Babylon' style instituter.... just an idea for people to mull over.

I believe there's a "Embassy" building in the Moderators companion - probably the nearest thing I can think of,

You could probably tweak that to suit,

Yeah, I vaguely remembered that whilst sitting at work. I did not remember if it was a 'clearing house' type of location....

Nice (and painfully obvious (painful because I missed it)) idea to adjust it into line, though.
