Noble Intentions

Post by murtalianconfederacy »

This, like almost all of my campaigns, is a solo VBAM:SX exploration campaign, this time featuring the Kryptonian Royal Kingdom (derived from the noble gas krypton--hence the bad pun for the title of the campaign)

Here is the campaign, so far, in notes.

3000.01

Nothing happened

3000.02

The KRK discover a minor colony system

3000.03

The KRK, exploring from the previously-discovered system, encounters a splinter colony, the Farrikh Grand Duchy. Relations are good, and Normal Relations are established

3000.04

The KRK exploration squadron returns to Kryptonar

3000.05

The FGD offers the KRK a NAP, TT and PT, all of which are accepted.

The KRK explores a minor colony system

3000.06

The KRK discovers a colony systems with Ancient Ruins and a Ancient Derelict with a mass very close to the Absilver battleships. Fortunately, the ships computers consider the KRK squadron to be it's owners and gave them full access.

3000.07

The ancient battleship moves back to Kryptonar and undergoes a refit to make it more suitable for the KRK to use. The explorers themselves move back to the system discovered in 3000.05

The FGD offers the KRK a MDT, which is accepted.

3000.08

The KRK place the ancient battleship into mothballs.

The KRK encounter another splinter colony, the Tselenkra Free Baronies. Relations are good, and Normal Relations are established. However, they are in a state of war with a power they contacted, the Loramian Royal Kingdom, and have lost their secondary system to the LRK*

The KRK offers the FGD an Alliance, which is accepted.

3000.09

The TFB constructs 8 Nitrolas

The LRK constructs 1 TaVerKor and 4 TaNerKors.

The FGD offers the KRK a Partnership, which is accepted. The TFB offers the KRK a NAP, which is accepted.

The KRK squadron returns to the system discovered in 3000.05

3000.10

The KRK discovers a minor colony system.

The TFB constructs 1 Nelesra.

The LRK constructs 1 TaLerKor, 3 TaFerKor and 2 TaNerDor with 12 NerTors.

The FGD petitions the KRK for membership of the KRK, which is accepted.

The TFB and LRK fleets clash in hyperspace between Tselenkra and Loramia. For the loss of one TaVerKor, 4 TaNerKors, 2 TaNerDors, 8 TaFerDors and the crippling of the TaVerDor commandship, the LRK destroys the offensive arm of the TFB. The LRK scrapped all fighter flights as there was insufficient basing to hold even one maintenance division of fighters.

3000.11

The TFB requests an armistice, which is rejected.

The TFB constructs 2 Tselenkras, 4 Nitrolas and 12 Neutrinhas.

The LRK replaces all units lost in the battle and repairs the TaVerDor.

With the unification of the FGD and KRK, the KRK scraps 2 Farrikhs, 12 Krohmias and 18 Ahlois, and moves the other main fleet units of the FGD into the KRK fleet. The KRK constructs 4 Boronias, 3 Lithias and 24 Neutanas for defensive and trade escort purposes.

The KRK exploration squadron returns to Kryptonar.

3000.12

The TFB requests an armistice, which is accepted. In exchange for a tribute treaty (3 EP/turn for 12 turns), the LRK and TFB will enter into a NAP.

The KRK explores an outpost system.

A 1EP raid at Nikalh is easily defeated.

The TFB offers the KRK a PT, which is accepted.

End of Year

Kryptonar and Absilver pass their census checks. Farrikh and Loramia have their morale increased by 1.

Tselenkra's productivity increases by 1.

Lithia experiences a massive population surge, increasing by 2.

An exploration squadron from the Devenarii Commonwealth enters the same system the KRK explorers discovered this turn. Relations are cordial and Normal Relations are established.

*The LRK gave me a couple of problems. First, they were an IND-3 power, and so therefore couldn't really press an invasion of TFB space--that was handwaved away by the fact they were 99% completed on their INT-1 tech achievement level, so I stated that they got their hands on TFB hyperdrives and used them. Then, secondly, they were over the threshold to mean they'd captured a TFB system (60EP vs 52EP equals 15% difference), but the only system they could have captured would have been Tselenkra. Rather than do this, and put the TFB in a really bad position, as well as meaning it was the LRK the KRK encountered, I put my CM hat on and stated that there was a jump lane, explored by either side, linking Tselen-Kolu and Loramia. Tselen-Kolu became the captured system and the TFB had a chance of beating off the LRK.

I apologise for not updating yesterday, but I wasn't feeling well and my internet connection was playing up. I will update ASAP. In the meantime, here's a dancing squirrel...:p
