Although its finished, heres a bumper campaign...

Post by murtalianconfederacy »

I've named it, unofficially, the Four Stars campaign (after the four nations that formed the largest alliance)

It was an exploration campaign that ran for 69 turns, and the entire folder I've got on it is quite heavy, containing masses of paper...

These are the powers I generated. Those with a '*' were conquered, and the name of the power(s) that conquered them are next to them.
Those that unified are linked with a =, and the name they chose for themselves after unification. Those with a ~ are splinter colonies and as such, if they unified with another power, will have been subsumed into the parent power

United Earth Alliance=Confederation of Brazil~

Omazan Free Republic=Free Emaqrin Union~

Balasian Technocracy

Ravian Union

Pyurvian Imperium* United Earth Alliance/Omazan Free Republic

Urtalian Royal Kingdom* United Earth Alliance

Arunan Theocracy* United Earth Alliance

Baronian Royal Kingdom* Omazan Free Republic

Harloc-Kian Imperium* Balasian Technocracy

Sohdarin Empire* United Earth Alliance/Omazan Free Republic

Calacan Peoples Republic (after a conflict with the Four Stars Alliance, a temporary power was set up called the Calacan Border Worlds, which eventually was allowed to rejoin the CPR two years later. The maintenance was exactly equal to the income of the CBW, meaning no tech advancement or other actions could be taken, and was essentially a passive NPE)

Pilundan League=Dulcian League. Dulcian-Pilundan League

United Agreatian Duchies

Alliance of Independent Raiders~* Calacan Peoples Republic

MonDakrin Federation=Valaxon Hegemony. Federated Hegemony* Murtalian Confederacy/Dulcian-Pilundan League/Tetradonian-Neonian Republic (strictly speaking, as the Neonians were conquered by the Valaxon before they were activated, and the TSR only became an INT-1 power just as the war ended, they did not help to conquer the FH, but they did become unified after a referendum and took a former Valaxon colony that linked both homeworlds together)

Neonian Republic=Tetradonian Social Republic. Tetradonian-Neonian Republic

Ikhanx Clans

Varanz Clan~

Murtalian Confederacy

Avtarian Imperium

I'm very interesting in (simple) campaign reports.

How many players/NPEs and systems?

Cheers,

Solo exploration campaign...

128 systems discovered, with around half of them colonised.

Also, although I don't have the file with me, heres a rough idea of where the campaign was.

The United Earth Alliance was the largest power, having a combined income/trade of somewhere in the region of 250EP a turn. The Omazan Free Republic, Dulcian-Pilundan League and Murtalian Confederacy were pretty close as well.

The Calacan Peoples Republic, Ikhanx Clans, Tetradonian-Neonian Republic and Balasian Technocracy were the 'second-rate' powers, I suppose you could call them, the Calacans and Ikhanx pretty equal economically and technologically. The other two powers were smaller, but pretty strong as well--the Balasians started as an IND-3 power but through tech advances and the eventual alliance with the Omazans and UEA made them a formidable power in the north.

Then there was the Ravian Union, United Agreatian Duchies and Avtarian Imperium. The Ravians had a bit of a helping hand, both from the UEA (who practically hauled the Ravian Union from its beginnings as a IND-2 power into a small interstellar power, and the fourth member of the Alliance of Four) and from myself, who decreed that since the Ravians had all of their ships built by the UEA, that they'd get a tech boost to allow them to make their own modifications. The UAD was a small power that was an IND-3 power activated by the Ravians or Balasians, who were defensive-minded (their first colony had no jump lanes, so they could concentrate their defences at Agreatul). The Avtarians were a special case, activated by a rogue ancient derelict that I generated, which turned out to not like the idea of being carted away by the Federated Hegemony and engaged the exploration force, then carried out its own exploration. The Avtarians had a really quiet time, not engaging in any conflicts despite the sheer number of wars in the campaign.

The last few days of the campaign saw the appreciation of the Murtalians and UEA as they both met. The UEA were a bit panicked at the size of the largest Murtalian ship, and the Murtalians were panicked at the tech level and size of the UEA. Had the campaign carried on, we might have seen a titanic encounter between the UEA and her allies and the Murtalians and her allies, grateful to them for the aid given to them in the war against the Federated Hegemony

Heck, just because I decided to add a bit more (even though its almost three months later...)

The Murtalians had some massive designs (hull 40) and were escorted by hull 16 battlecruisers. In essence, they were meant to be capable of staying around without requiring masses of fighters. The maintenance budget was bad though--the Murtalian economy was only seeing a few EP a turn trickle into their coffers. Of course, the size of than economy meant that once they went to war, they had a massive income boost, and started to think of new designs (including a smaller carrier based on the battlecruiser that would double the number of Murtalian fighter flights)

The UEA maxed out at hull 30 designs (although I did draw up plans for a hull 40 vessel to duel with the Murtalians)

Can't remember much more, sorry
