Another thought on simplifying input,

If you entered squadron and ship data in this form:

Code: Select all

Squadron...
Ship...
Ship...
Ship...

Squadron...
Ship...
Ship...
etc,
It's slightly less flexible, however by doing so you could eliminate both the squadron and the faction assignment for each ship line (both could be inferred by the squadron line above),

Plus this layout is slightly easier for someone entering the battle data to follow since their fleet charts are probably laid out in this form too,

The program is working great! I used it several times this last weekend.
I hope that next on the to do list are minefields and bases.

Mines can be partially modeled by DV 1, AS 0, AF 0 ships .. this gets the damage soak but not the formation bonus stuff..

Sorry that is probably not going to get much more work in the immediate future, the web VBAM version in playtest is going to be my focus.. I was writing a combat system for that..
