Re: Solo Campaign
Haven't played any more turns, but was reading through some more of the companion and saw the AIX stats for NPE races, NPE being Non Player Empire. AIX is I think basically the NPE Artificial Intelligence from what I can tell. Didn't get too in depth with it, but thought I'd roll the three base attr...

Re: Solo Campaign
Hey there, Haven't much fleshed out the Krionians yet actually. I'm trying to figure out things as I go along seeing as this is the first time I've tried a solo campaign. Originally I even planned to have Qo'Nos even more resource starved with only 2 RAW until I realized the fleet maintenance would ...

First Solo Campaign
Thought I'd try to fart around with a solo campaign as was home sick today. Not sure how far I'll get into this but should be interesting while it lasts. Decided to run a campaign as the Klingon Empire, using custom conversion's of FASAs starships which you can find on http://www.ststcsolda.space/ ....

Re: Your Wishlist for Companion and First Contact?
Edited.
Had a rule idea, but thought I should submit any rules ideas to Tyrel/Jay directly.

Good to hear you got so much in the pipeline. Though I can't imagine juggling six projects at once. Or Jay doing three-four projects at once right now. Hard enough for me to focus on one

Re: VBAM Second Edition Errata
Or could just be that you refund 50% of the investment cost as the local intel is forcible downsized. Can cite that they weren't able to pass the screening required for the colony ship.

Re: VBAM Second Edition Errata
Read through my copy of 2e today and had a question: In 3.4.1 Intel It says that "If a system loses Census, the maximum amount of Intel that it can support will also decrease. Any points . . . in excess of its new census value are lost. These spies were killed in whatever catastrophic event&quo...

Re: What's next?
How does Colonial Battlefleet fit into everything? I take it would be on Jay's list given your plate seems rather full.

What's next?
Now that With A Purpose is out the door, what's next on the VBAM slate? Are we going to see new or updated sourcebooks, from perhaps Tyrel's Escalation Wars universe? I know Full Thrust and Colonial Battlefleet tie-ins have been announced, along with War Fleet, but was wondering if anything else is ...

Re: Miniature/Wargame design/discussion podcasts?
I listen to the Game Design Roundtable as well: http://www.buzzsprout.com/7928.rss Though it's all boardgame. Pretty good discussion, though I find them lacking for topics at times and the first few shows are kinda annoying because they list their credentials at the start of the show. But yeah I hav...

Re: Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
Just wondering how do you plan to model the Torpedo Boat / Destroyer / Battleship dynamic? Or is that less important? I'm not sure what mechanics there are in VBAM to facilitate that. Torpedoes would obviously be good against Capital ships, but less effective against more manoeuvrable opponents like...

Re: Federation Admiral Public Update
You're not wrong, though given how that company interacts with their community I have to wonder how anyone can have supported them for 30 years. When I stated that make last minute changes to the game and releasing it untested was a bad idea, as anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of game d...

Re: Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
Ah sorry, missed the correction. Also missed this ship in some of the books, probably because it's most notable as being converted to a Carrier. Didn't take note of the original 2-2 configuration. How many fleets do you plan to have in the game? Or, more accurately what fleets do you plan to model? ...

Re: Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
What's the Formidable? Only HMS Formidable I found was a pre-DN Battleship. Many of the WW1 cruisers were I think like the Towns, which just had 8 single 6" guns all around with just shields and hand-loaded. Cruisers with Turreted guns I think came mostly after the war with Treaty Cruisers. Cru...
