Dual Mode fighters and weapons looks to be mucked up now. If anyone can explain how parts of a spreadsheet can get "changed" without being touched by me please do. They can sometimes get "corrected" by excel, if it thinks you have made a mistake, Can you narrow the problem down ...

Peacekeeper by Laura Reeve A very enjoyable read - I'm looking forward to the second book. Her take on electronic warfare in particular seems very interesting (as it's a field typically handled in an extremely weak fashion, within the book this probably explains why their superweapons (temporal dis...

I'm not sure I'd count as a new player (and I appreciate that new players should get priority), but if you do have any spare slots and don't mind me being in a totally different time-zone feel free to count me in for the pbem game,

Well, the basic delay doesn't seem too bad ('cept I'll also have to wait for it to ship to the UK as well...),

I guess we'll just have to hope for the best,

Thanks for the cross-post,

One guy pretty much just flipped through, said "too complicated," then whipped off a long meandering email to Steven V. Cole trying to say that. Wow, I mean, he's a SFB player right? SFB wrote the book on "too complicated" in many folks' books... (It's far more complex even than...

It's easily done, The marine mindset is used by so many scifi shows and books that it a part of our culture and way of thinking - and it is cool, so I have no problems playing games with those cliches, but they are somewhat improbable, It was Attack Vector: Tactical (by Ad Astra) that got me thinkin...

I don't know what far future will be like but I don't think that near future space will be that different from near future marine. <snip> And, marine combat already revolves around detection, fire and counter-fire with missile systems and so orders its fighting doctrine. Hate to disagree, but... Un...

Depending upon your game-background... A couple of alternate takes: Make planets multi-dimensional, either all of them, or some of them, If all planets exist in all dimensions then in effect you have one map with two different jump-gate networks - in effect all of your races are fighting for the sam...

How the game works, too, larger ships will always be materially better than smaller ships, but they will be extremely space, time, and money intensive. I approve, Big ships should have "economy of scale" over smaller ships, making them better (otherwise there really is no point in buildin...

Some of the scenarios allow one of the factions to ignore poor readiness states (the pursuer in a pursuit scenario is a case in point - you might expect him to not be totally prepared (so he may or may not get a surprise bonus), but you wouldn't expect him to be surprised either), In the case of the...
