Re: December 2011 Forum Playtest
Sorry you've been not feeling well and I can appreciate life getting in the way of fun things like VBAM. Glad things are turning around for you now though.

Re: VBAM 2E Playtest Files (Was: Any Updates?)
I am considering resurrecting the out of supply level (OSL) rules and modifying Endurance as follows. All units receive a number of OSL equal to their command cost each turn that they are out of supply. Units then take 1 damage for every fifth OSL they receive. Units remain encumbered by the OSL th...

Re: Edge Cases
2. Big ships are stealthier: stealth has a flat cost, so large ships are able to carry more stealth. And since stealth effectively means 'more difficult to hit' as opposed to 'more difficult to find', dreadnoughts are harder to lock onto than zippy little frigates, which seems wrong. Also, does ste...

Re: 2E Ability Brainstorm: Marines, Assault, Atmospheric, ??
And in regards to what you call this hybrid ground/space unit I'm not sure what to suggest. Still keeping with my Cold War theme (since I've done hours of research on this over the past few years) USA armor and mechanized infantry divisions fielded approximately 100 helicopters but where never consi...

Re: 2E Ability Brainstorm: Marines, Assault, Atmospheric, ??
A real world example comes to mind in regards to this topic: multi-role aircraft certainly cost more than dedicated aircraft during the Cold War this tended to be seen as a vice and not a virtue until it came time to waging air war then the true value of a multi-role aircraft would pay dividends on ...

Re: 2E Test Covers
All of these covers were illustrated by a Spanish artist named Luis Nunez de Castro Torres. He contacted us several years ago and, like most of those kinds of emails, I checked out his portfolio to see what kind of work he'd done. I was pretty impressed, so we contacted him and had him do the artwo...

Re: Plausible? Reliable? Biased?
I liked Kaplan's Hog Pilots, Blue Water Grunts: The American Military in the Air, at Sea, and on the Ground (author of the second article/link). I don't agree with all his reasoning but I respect him and his analysis. I've had a cousin in the Coast Guard stationed at Guam and a brother in the Air Na...

I did indeed enjoy that. I knew about the EF-111 and the 1982 Syrian butt-wuppin but the rest were new to me and very interesting.
