VBAM's December 2015 Update

Hello everyone, The holidays quickly approach us and it seemed like a good idea to touch base again. Tyrel is putting the final touches on With a Purpose and has passed along the near finished copy to the playtesters. As many of you will recall, it is the first expansion book for second edition and ...

Re: Stars Divided: Minis

It has been discussed. We would need to open the dialog with Noel again as we all felt it was a fun setting.

Re: Can't seem to get my friends interested!

Online gaming is a good way to try out the game and learn the rules. The list is good, like Paul mentioned, or you can try a thread here and drum up interest.

VBAM's November 2015 Update

Hello everyone, Things are moving along nicely here at VBAM Games. It looks like With a Purpose, now with additional playtesting and artwork complete, will move in to layout. I think players looking for a narrative and VP system will be happy with what we have built. Tyrel continues to work on The C...

Re: Crossover Works

Now, at this point the Vorlons, Shadows, and Ancients are meant to be NPCs/Special Encounters. SERIOUSLY, these things are really overpowered - they're designed to direct damage anything they can shoot at. Their DESTROYERS are akin to the average race's BATTLECRUISER. I suppose that is no surprise....

Re: Three Moves Ahead: Lost in Space

Yeah, I would rather see the frontier and other "empty" space that was implied to exist among all the major empires. It would certainly make for a better campaign experience. When I was working on that CTE project for AoG years back they had implied that their map only showed the important...

Re: Vbam and the blind

Please see below: I'd love to try online play, I think. I feel like PBEM is a bit more accessible than a forum, but either approach might work. That could work! A lot of our games are very story driven and we spend almost as much time working our diplomacy and plotting as we do playing the actual ga...

Re: 2nd Edition Unit Creation Spreadsheets

Nice work on the spreadsheets! We circled back on these new fighter and carrier rules because of a similar carrier war test I was running. Then we saw a similar problem in the Dilgar War playtest in May and June. We wanted to encourage the right use of carriers and we didn't want the "packages ...

Re: Vbam and the blind

Sorry to jump in a bit late here, but there are some ideas we may be able to explore for playing. First, would the hex or grid maps from the Federation Admiral playtest be useful? I could see it being something very regimented and easy to track. The nice thing is that with a standard hex map a 2e ma...

Re: Three Moves Ahead: Lost in Space

I think it would be fine in a two player wargame scenario, like a Narn/Centauri War game, when you have two empires fighting a fixed conflict. In that case everyone would be equally affected. In a game with exploration and diplomacy going on, it would become interminable unless you were playing fac...
