Re: Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
As I stated above, I originally misspoke, and was referring to the Courageous class of cruisers. And yes, they had 15" guns, 4 of them, mounted in pairs. In the 20's, HMS Courageous was converted to an aircraft carrier, much like Furious. Furious had been intended to be the third ship in the cl...

Re: Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
I've compiled all the British dreadnoughts, battleships, and cruisers for the era: 39 classes in total! Clearly, as I expected, once I get the British fleet compiled, I'll have enough to work with to develop my conversion process. Once that's where I want it, I can focus on the rest of 'em.

Re: Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
Interesting tidbit on how quickly naval engineering advanced during the run-up to World War I: The first British class identified as a "battleship" is the Majestic class of 1894. Majestics massed 14,900 tons, carried 4 12" guns, and could go up to 16 knots with coal. The last WWI-era ...

Steel Castles sourcebook in the yards!
http://i.imgur.com/N4VIIww.png Steel Castles is the working title for a setting book I've started work on for VBAM, 2nd Ed. It will be based on the pre-WWI naval arms race, but in spaaaaaace. Underneath will be a conversion of the real ships into VBAM stats - the space part will mostly come from th...

Re: Crossover Works
I finished that humongous conversation project for 1E then promptly let most of the materials go so I no longer have the source materials. However, I do still have (I think) my original conversion spreadsheet. Of course, for that matter, I would be tempted to go back through and just rebuild the shi...

This is really looking cool. Assuming this plan holds, Tyrel is veeeeerrrrrrry close to releasing the final alpha version of 2E; tools like this will add a definite coolness factor.

Re: Realm Works Campaign Manager (Lone Wolf Development)
I used to be a big user of armybuilder back in the day of my heavy minis gaming. Even though I'm still on their email mailing list, I pretty much ignore them and saw the announcement of Realm Works come and go...I take it I should give it a closer look.

Don't want you guys to think you're being ignored, but the answer is: I dunno.
Haven't heard from Tyrel lately...hopefully he'll pop his head in here soon and update us all.

Re: Curious about the business tactic used here...
My second playtest was going gangbusters and then I hit the end of year surge at work. Tyrel's suggested streamlining for loyalty and piracy checks really help move the turn along. I'm hoping to get back to it next week after the dust settles. I know this has been a long drawn out process, and I'm v...
