Re: Federation Admiral Public Update

Well work has officially commenced on the book, but you'd be hard-pressed to know it. Information for the book on the FC Forum is buried within the Campaign forum on the fc boards. People who asked questions about the book on the general forum had their threads immediately locked. http://www.starfle...

Miniature/Wargame design/discussion podcasts?

Does anyone know of a game-design podcast focused mainly on miniature games? I see a lot on board games, that is "ameritrash" or "euro" games. A lot on RPGs. A lot on computer games. But nothing that really gets into miniature games or board-games which would compare somewhat to ...

Re: VBAM's December 2015 Update

Another perhaps unrealistic alternative is some sort of rotatable base? I'm wondering if any company out there manufacturers an equivalent of plastic click-bases from the Wizkids games, where data and artwork could be placed into the counter and it could be tracked that way? Alternatively I'm wonder...

Not doing any online play myself, but you might want to also ask on the VBAM yahoo group if you haven't already:

Re: Chouka Fleet

Thanks. I hope I can paint up some more miniatures in the not too distant futures. Seems I'm good at collecting, not so good at painting.

Hope we see an expansion to the Boltian / Kussian fleets in future as well

Re: Chouka Fleet

In three or four years haven't painted any new ships but I got a new camera. Same ships through a different lense: http://knossos.firenebula.com/pics/chouka/chouka1.jpg http://knossos.firenebula.com/pics/chouka/chouka6.jpg http://knossos.firenebula.com/pics/chouka/chouka2.jpg http://knossos.firenebu...

Re: Three Moves Ahead: Lost in Space

Yeah I think getting the "scope" of the game is important, both in terms of empires and the map. More systems I think is okay if some of those systems require less management (maybe they only have a small outpost or resource collection like asteroid mining). Maybe there are also systems wi...

Re: Regarding Solo Campaigns

Yeah I had a chance to check out my moderator's companion yesterday but still need to look at my PDF of 2E again to see how diplomacy has changed if at all since I see the AIX system is probably meant to integrate with the existing treaty system so some of the thoughts I have in mind might be rather...

Re: Three Moves Ahead: Lost in Space

Ironically the only map we actually saw in Babylon 5 seemed to be that galactic arm map where Londo and Morden were discussing the shadow/centauri split. While a bit ridiculous it's a far cry from the rather limited node-based map of B5Wars. For a campaign game, something more in the middle might be...

Re: Regarding Solo Campaigns

I found this MoO1 resource: http://sirian.warpcore.org/moo1/ai.html Some of the racial traits might be a bit redundant for MoO1, but good starting point. I'm not sure where the rules are for NPEs in 1e? (Or maybe they're in 2e as well). I had a look at Menagerie last night but see it's focused solel...

Re: Regarding Solo Campaigns

Well I'd need to have a more in depth examination of the rules and probably also say menagerie 1e to really think up some ideas, but in general I would say that another principle might be to Create or realize the details of the QE only when the actions of the player or the QE necessitate. So the CP ...

Re: Regarding Solo Campaigns

Well, assigning a the QE a certain amount of colony points sort of does away with exploration I think however. One aspect of the exploration I suggest is that the player doesn't know how big the enemy empire is until they have done something to reveal it to them so defining the overall capabilities ...
