System Importance - Issues found in values for 2E

I was having fun at work this early morning using Brennall's System Generator when I started to notice a strange trend. I was not coming up with any Very Low or Very High systems. So I decided to track 100 systems, then another 100 systems, another and another, and finally a 5th 100 systems, and no ...

Re: 2E System Generator

The server based newest version doesn't remember to use Japanese, swahili etc when I refresh; is that simply because of me refreshing on an active server vs stand alone; or is this something you need to modify because it should remember I want Viking names ?

Re: 2E System Generator

Brennall,

Seems to be a problem with this version of your system generator it is only 21K size download compared to previous versions 121K, and doesn't do much. Could you have accidentally just saved a sub-system of the generator ??

Re: 2E Tech Questions

Nimrodd, There is something about this that I really like. I mean I like the concept a LOT. But I worry about it being integrated into 2E base rules as it adds a little more 'math' into the equation. And too much of that 4-letter word will scare some peeps away. Still, dang, I really like your conce...

Re: 2E System Generator

Thank you, again. Your generator robustly handles its task, yet is simply elegant to view.

Re: VBAM 2E Playtest Files (Was: Any Updates?)

Thanks for continuing the hard tast of putting it all together, keep pressing on. No pressure now , but the fate of EMPIRES are in your hands. :) I'll leave you with a quote from 'The Princess Bride' to get you ready for the next week: Good night, Tyrel. Good work. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill ...

Re: 2E Feedback

This isn't best place to put this but I didn't want to start a new thread, kind of a one and done thing. Want to apologize to Mavikfelna and any others that enjoy playing Starfire. After looked at some of my earlier posts, I seem to have did that game a disservice. Grew older playing all but Ultra v...

Re: Special Tech Analysis

Some interesting stuff to think about. Thanks for doing those calculations, as a game designer (Hobby, not vocation), I always learn stuff reading these boards. It's always nice to have hard math on your side, hehehe. The VBAM crew seem to want to do 2E right so, unless they have other reasons to ke...

Re: 2E Playtest file Errors and Corrections

Thanks Nimrodd ! As much as I'm interested in what wonders will be put in to the 2E Companion, Menagerie, etc ...; this post will help the VBAM crew get 2E out quicker. And I need it out soon so that I can get my "old folks home" of gamers going exploring space and kicking arse again. P.S....

Re: Human Republic Playtest Thread

Tyrel, Hope you are feeling better and better. I think you (and the crew) are doing a great job. I know I'd be doing much worse if I had my game system up for scrutiny. Even though all the posters here are fairly (to highly) intelligent, constructive, and trying to make VBAM 2E even better; I'd take...

Re: Hello, Can I ask for some advice ..

Thanks Brennall for your continued work on these projects ! I'm a little envious, as I can barely put 'Nested IF statements' and 'HLOOKUP tables' in my own space game's spreadsheets. You, Virtutis, and others are really helping us all with these and other applications. But don't get burned-out ... w...

Re: 2E System Generator

When I clicked on 'Ha'tri' and' Ha'tri System' on your last thread post; the system name still showed as Banitand for me. But the work for the actual Sys Gen is superb !!

Re: Hello, Can I ask for some advice ..

I don't have the Campaign Companion (not yet at least). So what is (or can be) added to Sys Gen for Admiral, compared to Commodore Sys Gen. Also, all you active peeps monitoring this Forum .. Can you give some short comments on why you use or don't use Admiral in your campaigns? I really love a very...

Re: 2E Feedback

Very interesting stuff there, Darbycmcd. I like most of your ideas because they just feel a little bit more real. And I especially like the chance of having a world you just gotta mine because of ALL the resources it has; but it is on a harsh- hostile- poisonous- insidious- or worse world that rains...
