How are you Progressing?
As there has not been much activity on the board recently, I've just got to ask: "How far along are you?" in VBAM2? Have you got X out of Y chapters completed to your satifaction? Have you had a repeat of the "Month from Hell" that created delays in Feburary? Are you so close you...

The following is an overview of some of the changes made to the rules in the past few weeks: The tech level and miniaturization system has been changed so that tech levels now range from 0 – 18 (instead of 0 – 10), and each macro tech level provides a +5% miniaturization bonus. This means that an e...

Empire Set up
When using the empire set up, when you buy a colony, does that include a lane (or lanes) connecting the system to the rest of the empire? Or do you have to purchase the lane as an "already explored lane"?
I've assumed the latter in my playtesting, but I thought I would as for clarification

And as for shipyards? All facilities are gone and will be treated as infrastructure. So a colony could have Shipyards 3, purchased as other infrastructure and without maintenance costs. We're still ironing out details. Tyrel is tying together some loose ends, but we hope to put an updated alpha doc...

(9.0 Diplomacy) 9.6.1.1 First Contact Hostilities Check: I believe that you wanted Diplomacy to lower chances of a First Contact battle. However the formula given “If the percentile die result is less than or equal to half its Aggressiveness (AG) plus the total Diplomatic rating in the fleet, the po...

9.4.2 Integrity: The Reaction Modifier example text does not match the chart. At an IN of 91 the break Reaction should be +90 not +45. As a matter of fact none of the Break modifiers shown end with the number 5. 9.6.2.4 War: The passage reads “Empires are considered to be in a state of War whenever ...

<snip> I like the brief discription you gave and look forward to it, along with the fact that there can be more points available than before, it will enable me to be closer to how I want the various races to be in my campain. BTW is some form of flight going to be included? In a long ago post I had ...

Okay, yes, the pirate forces will be able to steal the resources from a trade link or colony using the standard rules, but we would need some optional rules to allow national powers to do the same. The reason for this is that there would have to be some sort of trade off or limitation that would no...

Re: Questions and/or Observations on the "Empire"
In the 6.12 EMPIRE GENERATION section, I suggest that either you add an option that allows for the buying of shipyards out of the Initial Empire Points for Interplanetary and above civilizations or you make a statement that such civilizations automatically have 1 such facility. Empires can purchase...

Re: General Questions
In the diplomatic action segment of the 2.0 rules, will there be anything like what I call a plunder raid (AKA a Water raid for those of you who are familiar with the Battletech universe) or will this be a form of state sponsored piracy (from the new Trade and Piracy chapter you mentioned on the 01...

Is there any way to forcibly decrease an enemy powers tech level(s)? I am running a solo campaign to provide more detail for a gaming/writing world I've created. One of the planned events in the defeat of an enemy power. Many of the remnants of same power are/will be just plain dangerous and the win...

Ground Unit Question.
Am I correct in the belief that ground units (not wet Navy units) can have hangers? Such a unit could be used to represent a combined arms unit that includes facilities to create/maintain forward airfields and operate with attached air units (such as a real life MAU/SOC unit with a SEABEE unit attac...

Questions and/or Observations on the "Empire" File
There is a typo in 6.3.1.3 Capturing an Imperial Capital. In the last line it refers to 6.2.1.4 Loss of an Imperial Capital when it is actually 6.3.1.4 (the next section) In the 6.12 EMPIRE GENERATION section, I suggest that either you add an option that allows for the buying of shipyards out of the...
