A PBEM version would need to eliminate basically all player interaction, which would not make for much fun in the full CSCR but is a necessary evil for PBEM play. I think the "PBEM-friendly" version would be similar to the streamlined version, where there aren't any Squadrons at all, just...

A general rundown of the order in which Encounter events are resolved could be added to the unfinished Encounter Generation section of the rules, in order to make it a bit clearer as to what happens at each step. In your mind, what element is most confusing: Encounter generation, Scenario generatio...

A good flowchart or two should definitely be added to make things clearer. It isn't that complicated although a few things have been added since the Federation Commander version. It might make sense to make a few of those items optional to not scare away the newbies. BTW I do think that fighter flig...

It would be nice to recreate one of the more fighter heavy battles of that campaign for comparison.

Replacing the wall of text with straight data would also be helpful. ;)

In both cases, ground combat will be extended so that several round of combat can occur during each campaign turn. Actually I had hoped it would move in the opposite direction. Far too many ground combats are resolved within a single turn as it is. I would like to see more drawn out and messy campa...

I like it.

So, how long would it take to build the Death Star?

You could run the normal twelve-turn year, but only allow players to write new orders every third turn,

Having found this on another board, I think it fits: ARKHAM, MA—Arguing that students should return to the fundamentals taught in the Pnakotic Manuscripts and the Necronomicon in order to develop the skills they need to be driven to the very edge of sanity, Arkham school board member Charles West co...

I'd describe my goal rather as making logistics more important. Anything which slows down operations is a good thing in my book as it should lead to far better gameplay. The ops tempo is far too high as it is.

I see. I am still not convinced that players will actually increase the formation rating of their escorts instead of the more expensive capital ships in actual game play but I am sure we'll find out in playtesting. Another concern of mine would be designs that consist of nothing but DV and engines. ...

This does indeed look better. One other thing to restrict mass fighter redeployments could be to not make the replenishment network instantaneous and being able to travel far faster than starships. If they are affected by the same movement rules and restrictions, then attrition could actually be mea...
